The Kelso Hall committee is very pleased to announce that this is Kelso Hall’s tenth anniversary.
Over these ten years Kelso Hall has provided a venue for community events and a showcase for exceptional talent from the Chateauguay Valley and beyond. During this time, much work has been done to restore and preserve this beautiful and historically significant building, rescuing it from a state of serious disrepair.
Planning for the 2009 program of events at Kelso Hall is well underway. We’ll be introducing some great new talent this season as well as welcoming back some of the wonderful performers we’ve had at the hall in past years, and you can look forward to another season of exciting and varied events.
We are pleased that this year, once again, the hall will be host to at least one wedding.
A calendar of events will be available mid-May and will be sent along with their receipt to all those making a donation. You will also be able to access the program on the Kelso Hall website: www.kelsohall.com and you can receive weekly notification of events if you supply us with your email address.
Last year, with the help of funding from donations and a grant from the municipality of Elgin, we were able to install an Envirolet composting toilet, an improvement which is consistent with Kelso Hall’s environmentally conscious policy. Among other projects, a sign was installed in front of the hall and we purchased a projector for the popular movie nights. Last year, for the first time, the newly renovated basement was available for use and it was possible for the monthly Country and Western musical evenings to be held in this bright and spacious room.

We hope that you will consider contributing to this dynamic community project for the 2009 season. With your help we plan to continue restoration work and improvement of the facilities in the building. For each annual donation you will receive one or more free passes to an event during the season. Kelso Hall is made possible by the goodwill and energy of the volunteers who work on this community project: Kim Moss oversees the event planning and organizing as well as the restoration and repair work on the building. Ellie Moss is our graphic artist; Noëlla Daoust is responsible for the grant application and secretarial work; Chantal Lemoine does the accounting; George Campbell organizes the monthly Country and Western evenings; Jules and Louise Charlebois create the lovely flower arrangements that you see at each event;

Cathleen Johnston helps with event planning; Nora Quinn does the writing; Robert Wilson is our translator. Some of these same volunteers are also involved with the details of planning and organizing the events. This year, as last year, Martha Chodat will be employed to help us with publicity. Corporate sponsors will receive free advertising in our calendar of events, provided the donation reaches us no later than April 3. If possible, please include a digital file on a CD of your logo, or a business card. If we do not receive either of these from you Ellie will create an appropriate design. All donations will be acknowledged with a tax receipt.

Thank you for your support,
The organizers of Kelso Hall
