This was my first time to participate in the marathon bird count and I exceeded my goal by identifying 51 species by sight or sound.

I began at 4:30 p.m. on May 20 with an American redstart at H. J. McFarland Conservation Area and ended at 4:30 p.m. on May 21 with a flock of city pigeons in Belleville.
